What you will be part of
Business Unit Training & Simulation develops and manufactures training systems, mainly for military users. Our offer is wide-ranging and includes the provision of world-leading laser simulators for live training, force on target applications, virtual simulation capabilities and training services. Training & Simulation operates globally with more than 550 employees in many different countries. Saab has been a well-known partner within the Dutch defense sector for more than 20 years with our live training simulation. In the coming years, you will be part of many new developments.
Your role
You will be responsible for the Saab location at the Bernhardkazerne in Amersfoort and the person of contact for the Air Force system in Volkel. You lead a team of 15-20 people, whose role is to ensure the optimization of Saab’s products and effective delivery of on-site training. You maintain close contact with the customer and ensure that requested support is delivered in the correct and effective manner.
While the entire team travels across Europe to support the Dutch army with the MCTC system, you are the central hub in Amersfoort for the exercise leaders.
Your main responsibilities
- Manage the staff and ensure that Site operations and services are carried out in accordance with the contract, local laws and regulations and defined processes, policies and strategies.
- Report to Support Manager the Netherlands
- Provide input to the budget (Cost, investments, staffing) for site Marnehuizen
- Organize the delivery of services by defining areas of responsibility in accordance with operational needs and ensure that site personnel are assigned the necessary authorities and responsibilities.
- Plan the delivery of daily services at site.
- Make sure work hour-regulations are followed
- Conduct Individual Performance Management annually and support staff development with on-the-job training and formal courses to meet overall and operational objectives.
- Ensure that the training capabilities supplied by T&S are maintained correctly and that the configuration is kept as specified.
- Conducting yearly performance review with site personal
- Report effectiveness, efficiency and need for improvement of the system to the T&S Quality & Environmental Manager.
- Ensure that actions are taken to meet customer requirements.
- Ensure that internal requirements are known and understood by Site personnel
- Gather and analyze data from the processes to ensure continuous improvement of site and service operations.
- Act independently to handle customer requests and handle these requirements efficiently.
- Responsible for security at the site
- Responsible for the daily management of health & safety at site in accordance with local laws and regulations.
- Project manager for smaller projects on behalf of the Support Manager.

Professional
- Proven experience or potential in site/operations management or similar leadership roles
- Knowledge of process optimization, project management, and risk management
- Strong business acumen
- Industry-specific expertise

- Strong leadership and conflict resolution skills
- Excellent communication skills in Dutch and English
- Great collaboration skills
- Decision-making ability, resilience, and high sense of responsibility
