COS technician

Job description

The COS technician will perform all duties related to the preparation and execution of exercises supported by MCTC.

Responsibility

1. Perform all types of assigned tasks during all phases of the deployment of MCTC.
2. Perform all (delegated) types of electro/mechanical repairs on the equipment in use.
3. Perform diagnostic actions / tests to identify faults.
4. Keep track on the repair status in all phases using the appropiate program.
5. Keep the stock of spares at the appropiate level.
6. Perform software updates.

Required skills

1. Be confident with working with the office applications WORD, EXCEL. OUTLOOK and POWERPOINT.
2. Be confident with working with Microsoft Server/Client operating systems.
3. Understanding computer basics (hardware and software).
4. Be able to communicate in writing and speaking in the Dutch and English languages.
5. In possession of a driver license up to the level required for driving all types of site cars.
6. Good health and physical status.
7. Social situation must permit being on duty abroad for an extended period of time (2-3 weeks) on a frequent annual basis.

Preferred skills

1. Have knowledge/experience with working in a small IT network.
2. Have knowledge/experience with databases.
3. Be able to communicate in writing and speaking in the German and/or Swedish languages.
4. Having served in one of the branches of the armed forces.

Personal competences

1. Must be able to operate as a part of a (small) team.
2. Must be flexible to deal with rapid and / or unexpected changes.
3. Must be able to pick up tasks / duties / responsibilities.
